I feel that poverty is a serious and a growing issue. Many people belive that poverty is only an issue in 3rd world countries but 1 in 6 children are living in poverty. Of course I belive that we should help other countries but i also feel that there should be more to be done in our own communities. Many people already are involved in helping our community and other countries but there is still a need for more!
Now there is about 600 billion dollars invested at Wall Street every year. Yet to feed every person in poverty in the world for a year is 3 billion dollars. This fact stunnded me that people are worrying so much about thereself and that if everyone in the world gave 50 cents then that would equal 3 billion dollars, enough to feed the whole poverty population.
To conclude i feel that there is good things being done and we're well on are way to helping poverty but let's keep going and fix this problem.
Not bad for a first post Harley. You've mixed statistics and your own ideas well. I liked that you drew attention to a common debate - do you help your own community or other countries - it's a tough argument for either side. Try to explain yourself even more in your future posts
